About

Pedrêz is an eclectic architecture practice. The studio develops continuous research on efficient use of resources and is known for developing their own artifacts to fabricate materials and low impact building solutions, all based on natural and renewable resources, in which hemp, wood, wool, waxes, seed oils and earth take a prominent place.

Promoting sustainable architecture ever since its outset, Pedrêz has its own building team of artists and craftsman which allows for specific building
solutions custom tailored to each project. The studio is named after an indigenous Portuguese chicken, on account of the breed’s important role in circular self-sufficient housing units.

Pedrêz research process is featured in a broad range of exhibitions and lectures. Recently Pedrêz exhibited his work in “Generation Próxima” at the New York Center for Architecture, was part of the Portuguese representation in the 18th Venice Architecture Biennale and was selected to exhibit in “What is missing. 50 years of Portuguese architecture in democracy” at the Portuguese Center for Architecture.
